Outdoor Seating Area Approved For Gourock Pub
Cleats Bar has been given permission to use land beside its premises as an outdoor seating area.
Inverclyde planners have agreed that the Gourock bar on Kempock Street, Gourock, can have tables and chairs in an area on the east side of the building following the plans submitted by Rebecchi Architectural.
There will be 12 tables, six with four seats each and six with two seats. Raised decking will be constructed over an area that’s currently soft landscaping.
Officials felt that the proposal would make a positive contribution to the “vibrancy, vitality and viability” of the town centre.
A decision report issued by the planning department stated: “The provision of outdoor seating could encourage more customers to the premises, increasing footfall around this part of the town centre.
“Whilst in the area, customers of the premises may also choose to use other shops and services, benefitting nearby shops and businesses.”
