New Proposal To Change Empty Church Hall Into A House

Revised plans to transform an old church hall in Gourock into a house have been drawn up.

Rebecchi Architectural have submitted a planning application to refurbish and convert the former St Bartholomew’s Church hall in Binnie Lane.

As well as three bedrooms, the property would have an open plan lounge/kitchen/dining room, a gym and a games room with a bar.

The proposal is pending assessment by Inverclyde Council planners.

A previous application that involved extending the building was refused as officials believed it would create and “over-dominant feature”.
